5800X3D Absolutely Crushes In Planetside 2. I Can Play With

Upgrading to 5800X3D now consistently hard crashes this game Ever since I upgraded to this new chip, from a 5800X, the game now hardcrashes in any game after long enough has passed.

Hi all, this is my first post and my first time on Reddit. Hope you all are doing well. Im here because I have a technical issue with Fortnite. I bought few months ago a new PC : MSI B550 Tomahawk AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D. 8 x 3.40GHz AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT – 16 GB RAM 32GB DDR4 3200 MHz Corsair Vengeance (2 x 16gb) MSI MPG A850GF – 850W 2 SSD x 1To Ever since GU9 Planetside 2 has been crashing every 5-10 minutes on my machine regardless of settings. Before these recent updates I was running PS2 on ultra with absolutely no issues (high frame rates, no lag, no crashes).

Everything seemed to go good, recognized the new cpu, booted to windows just fine, I made sure to install all new drivers and updates ect. Then I went to enable XMP and now I keep getting random crashes/restarts. They can happen within a few minutes after start up, with nothing running, or maybe 30 minutes after So imo you can get better performance even at 4k with a better CPU than the 5800X3D but even in the most demanding games „acceptable“ performance is possible with the 5800X3D. My recommendation is to try out the 4090 with the 5800X3D in the games you play to see if you get the performance you want, you can always upgrade later!

Me and a friend have different rigs but both use a 5800x3d cpu in them. Wether individual or in co-op we get crashes every 30min-2hrs. Its a frustrating experience and seems to happen at random, in the middle of combat with Pieta, randomly walking, hitting a wall, changing gear, etc. We’ve tried to narrow it down and ended up on this commonality between us. I’m looking to upgrade to a 5800X3D and a 4070ti, but I’m wondering if I’d still be CPU bottlenecked in this game. Currently if I try and use RT, I will be CPU bound so even DLSS set to ultra performance can’t save my framerate (no that I’d actually play that way, just making a point). Can anybody comment on how the 5800X3D handles RT in this game? Is it CPU I have a 5800X3D + a 4070ti and I play cyberpunk at 1440p on high/ultra settings with Ray Tracing on, without DLSS I’m at 75-80 fps with Frame Gen on I’m getting 130fps and oh my God – the graphics are absolutely insanely good, like I have to stop and look at some of the characters sometimes because the detail, sharpeness and quality is just (for me personally) mind blowing,

I have a Steam Controller (SC) and I play planetside 2 with it occasionally. I like to drive sunderers and play infantry. I’ve never tried it on an air vehicle. When I drive sunderers, the SC can be a lot of fun. It lets me sit back on my couch instead of at the computer, and it gives my fingers a break from holding WASD all the time.

For any PC players with good GPUs who are upset with performance, the 7800x3D is absolutely worth it for WZ2

This was purely a CPU bound case, all settings maxed out (RT with both local shadow RT and psycho RT lighting) with DLSS Ultra Performance at 720p (so about 240p internal res). Trying to find the limits of the CPU performance in this game and why the SMT mod can make a huge difference very high with DLSS if you are CPU bound. If you have a 5800X, or 5800X3D, give it a try. Oh and I’m I’d say go for 5800x3d, you are upgrading to a 4070 tier card (not a 4090 lol xD). I run a 5800x3d with 6800 XT with no issues, but then again my PSU is a pretty decent one (gold rated+).

IN-GAME ISSUES Deleted Characters Please take the utmost care when deleting your character. If you delete the wrong character customer service will not be able to restore it. Deleted characters ar If i play with maxium performance in nv the test server settings the game just stutters and my cpu runs on 100% all the time. if i disable it and play on optimal performance from nv control panel the game runs normally but performance ingame is really bad. never experienced this before.

I built this PC in 2021 and it had an AM4 motherboard with a Ryzen 7 3700x, 2070 super and 16gb ddr4. I recently upgraded to a 4070 and while it definetely is running things a little bit nicer, I feel like I should definetely be getting better performance than what I’m getting right now. I looked around in this sub and noted that the 5800X3D is a really good choice and that brings up the For my Linux users out there, success? I’ve waited a long, long time for this. Planetside 2 is highly dependent on netwrk connection speed. This is also true for Windows There are two (and a half) ways around the 30min stutter (which began around mid October 2024). -The first is to avoid DXVK by enabling PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1. There is a slight performance hit, but less than the stutter -The second is to enable Steam Overlay.

I still don’t think CoD, Battlefield/front or have even came close to giving low GPU utilization and me the in-game moments like Planetside 2 can. I logged in to the Planetside 2 test server, and after an update loaded, I was able to play there with no problems. I suspect that someone may have forgotten to add high with DLSS set the 3840 x 2160 display resolution into the mix, but fixed the problem on the test server. So I’m expecting that the next change to production will fix my problem.

I can’t play one of my characters. The two others work, but when I try to log on to my main the game freezes and then crashes. I have tried re-installing my client, disabling my firewall, and even logging in on a friends computer, but nothing seems to work. Is there any way to fix this? I would like to be able to play my main again.

Suddenly, I can’t log into Planetside 2. The Launcher works fine, and I manage to get to the Character screen without Wether individual or in any problems. But when I click to login the character, I just get the spinning green circle marked „Logging
