It’s not that it’s missing something old Doom has, it’s that the map and encounter designs are much more segmented and predictable. So while moment to moment gameplay is exceptional I am 7-10 into wish Doom the game, I found Eternal to be much faster than Doom 2016 which i hate, the pace in 2016 was perfect. Also, i easily run out of ammo which i despise too, 2016 was so generous in this aspect.
