In That Aotc Scene Where Anakin Kills The Sand People?

Anakin: I killed them. I killed them all. They’re dead, every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too. They’re like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals. I HATE THEM. It was with this mindset that I watched Attack of the Clones three times in the theater. The relationship between Padmé and Anakin gave me something to connect to on an emotional level. This is laughable to most people, I’m sure, since their scenes (and dialogue) are among the most mocked moments in the entire saga.

How did Padme reconcile Anakin’s slaughter of the Tusken

Although the slaughter of the sandpeople was certainly an evil action, I don’t think it’s quite as “non-understandable” as many think. Anakin has the powers of a demi-god;he can kill people with the flick of his wrist. All his life, he’s been told to repress his emotions and has no clue how to handle them. Then, after days of stress travelling through the desert, he finds his mother In Thrawn Alliances, a Canon book, there’s a flashback and Padmé is trying to stop Anakin from blowing up a separatist mine that a bunch of local workers depend on for their livelihoods. Thrawn asks her why she won’t just ask Anakin to stop, and she thinks back to when he tells her about killing the sand people (she’s crying remembering it) and says when he gets in that angry I’m sure this has been brought up before, but it is really confusing me. In AOTC Anakin admits to slaughtering sand people. Men, women and children.

Another great scene in Episode II where Anakin sets off to find the sand people and Across the Stars Return To Tatooine transitions into Duel of the Fates. It’s been awhile since I last had the time to post, but I’m here with Part 4 of my Anakin Skywalker blog series. In this blog, I’m going to be discussing one of the most controversial elements of the prequel trilogy: Anakin’s relationship with Padme. In AotC, the audience ALREADY KNOWS Anakin is going to get with Padme at some point, because we have to have Luke and Leia or else there’s some big twist somewhere, so everything happens in this awkward way where the audience has no investment in the goals of the characters, does Padme react this way and the dialogue can’t hold tension or propose questions to the In Attack of the Clones there is a scene that makes me cringe. I tend to agree. I think that the Sand People scene is among the best in the Star Wars saga, and really emphasizes the tension in Anakin, and what happens when he deals with loss. However, I don’t feel that there was enough of the fall portrayed to really grasp it without some supplemental material for ROTS. It’s pretty hilarious that Padme seems more angry and afraid of Anakin after seeing him nearly beat Clovis to death than when she heard he killed an entire tribe of sand people in AOTC, and then killed younglings and helped form the empire in ROTS. I had no problem forgiving Anakin, because I had known long ago that if there were Jedi children, they too would’ve been killed. Anakin killed a lot of people as a Sith. Children are no different, even if it is considered taboo. In the end, Anakin truly repented for his ways.
