So I’ve never played league in my life, but a lot of my friends do. I looked through the champs and thought Riven seemed cool but everyone says she’s super hard. Should I start out with her or should I learn the game with a different champ first? If the first pick is hovering the exact champ you wanna ban you can think about it to not do it since he has the highest possibility of getting that champ. I can understand you if it’s the last pick of a current op champ and so the possibility of getting that is rather low, not null but so low that you can argue that it’s better to

If both champions are late game, Riven is getting dicked down. I got downvoted on that post bcs I said that there is no way darius and sett outscale riven. xD

Take my advice lightly as I am not an avid Riven player But to my understanding, Riven is not a late-game champion. Late-Game is when tanks can really start to excel, in terms of being unfreakingkillable When picking Riven, one usually has the intentions on an earlier victory, 20-30 minutes. It is very similar as to when people pick Pantheon, Xin, and many other cheesy and If you want a champion that you can pick up, and start being successful late game AD in 10-20 games pick Renekton. I see Aphelios as a mid-late game AD carry. His early game is quite weak in laning phase, but once he gets an item or two, that’s when he starts Riven build guides on to ramp up. I don’t see him as a true late game carry because his kit is not exactly made for it and the lack of mobility hurts him.

Riot Phroxzon – „Back in early seasons, Riven was one of the few high agency champions. 10 years later, we’ve released a lot more champions that fill some of those same into mid than flashy motivations, which is overall a good thing, but does result in a decline in popularity“ „Having said that, Riven does have some legitimate problems. Firstly

Riven is a very good champion, but her learning curve risks a lot, but the reward is incredibly fruitful. Riven is one of the champions that have an incredibly high, almost infinitely high skill ceiling. i’m wondering if anyone „mains“ riven, but will choose to pick something else depending on what the enemy team is i would think a riven one trick doesn’t do this or maybe even some Riven mains don’t either but, anyways i’d like to know if a Riven main will not choose Riven, and chooses another champion they have in case, depending on

As a former dota2 player I can’t grasp the difference between early and scale champions in lol. I understand that some champions have better scales than other, some even have infinite scales, but that doesn’t help much with understanding of tempo and macro in league and its differences with dota. Though I play riven and aphelios who’s early game differs drastically I can’t say that Riven’s a bruiser, and always gets outscaled by certain champs. At some point, Irelia will always outdamage you, yasuo will outdamage you, fiora will outdamage you etc. There isn’t much you can do against them because they just scale into the late game much better than you do. You’re a bruiser with good mobility, so your priority should be pushing out side lanes and then moving

Unless this champion can realistically duel other toplaners without relying on early ignite cheesing, there is no point to picking Riven in season 14. Her lategame scaling is too terrible to justify her losing 95% of top lane matchups.

Is Riven the hardest Champion?

To be entirely honest, I’ve seen Riven as a mid to late game champion in season 10. There are a couple matchups that Riven can absolutely abuse in the laning phase (Vlad/Gnar imo), but for the most part, Riven doesn’t want to do anything at all until Kindle & Caulfields. Sometimes Riven powerspikes with just a caulfields depending on the matchup, but her early game get’s It’s good to know that a champion’s performance is skill based throughout the match. My biggest complaint with many champions is that they either fall off very hard, like Irelia, or have an abysmal early game, like Jax. Honestly, Riven sounds like a champion you could main and fit

Amazing late game. Meanwhile champs like Vlad, Ryze, Nasus have to be weak early only to be on par with Riven lategame and champs like Garen, Renekton, Yorick are on par with Riven early but have to be weak late. Ryze that starts E is some of the scariest lvl 1 I’ve ever seen so his early game is not as weak as your claiming. And why mention nasus?
